Wine Tasting, AGAIN!!

Mike's parents and sister have come to visit, so of course we had to take them to Paso.

Stop 1: Bianchi Vineyards
Tasting Fee: $5, includes glass

I had been here before, but Mike hadn't so I thought it would be a good one to start at with his family in town. They have about 15 wines to pick from for tasting. You can taste as many as you want for the tasting fee. Because it includes the glass they don't waive the tasting fee with purchase. They have sweet wines that are decent, and amazing red wines as well.

Stop 2 & 3: Steinbeck Winery & Pasoport Vineyards

Tasting Fee: $5

This location actually had two winery tasting rooms in one location. Steinbeck had mostly reds, and they were all good. The only down side is that they were expensive. Pasoport had only port wines. They had a few reds and a couple white ports. I'm not a sweet wine or port fan so that was less impressive to me. But if you do like sweet wines and ports this might be the place for you. The one neat thing about this winery was that the owner was actually pouring the wine for us at the tasting.

Stop 4: Penman Springs

Tasting Fee: $5 (I think, I don't really remember)

This winery wasn't too bad. It had gorgeous views because it was up at the top of a hill looking over the own of Paso. I'm not sure if I would come here again, or even really recommend it. It doesn't stand out too much in my mind, which doesn't say much good about it. Mike's dad, Chuck, is not a big drinker and he was pretty much shot at this point. He couldn't drink anymore so this is what he did here...

Stop 5: Justin Vineyards

Tasting Fee: $10

Amazing, as usual. You should go here!!

Stop 6: Mondo Cellars

Tasting Fee: N/A

Gorgeous views at this place. It sits high on a hill at one edge of wine country. Their wine was also amazing. They had a rose, which I'm not usually a fan of, that was really good. Their reds were also good. The best thing about this place was sitting out on their patio having the wine brought out to taste. You could tell that Chuck and Jenny were not used to drinking and wine tasting. Chuck was gone after just a few wineries, and this is what happened to Jenny...

We all had a great time. The weather was gorgeous and there was a great breeze coming from the ocean over the hills. A great way to start off their vacation!!
